Zixin Chen is a third-year PhD student at the Purple Mountain Observatory, CAS, and the University of Science and Technology of China. She is currently on a two-year research visit at the University of Groningen under the supervision of Quentin Changeat.
She is interested in the atmospheres of hot and warm giant exoplanets. In particular, she is working on the reduction and analysis of JWST transmission spectra for a focused sample of these planets. She plans to use atmospheric retrievals to carry out a comparative study of their atmospheric compositions and inhomogeneities. Zixin is also a member of the Closeby Habitable Exoplanet Survey (CHES), a proposed mission to search for potentially habitable planets around nearby stars.
